Is there a way to see the names of auction bidders that are unsuccessful? I think it would be good information to have. When I paint one of my more popular subjects, I contact my collectors that I know are interested to give them a “heads up.” I recently had 6 bidders on a painting, which is 6 potential future clients, but I only know the name of the winner.
An essential feature of our auctions is the bidders know they are anonymous unless they are the highest bidder, when, of course, the artist must know their name, email address, and shipping address. Receiving an unsolicited email from an artist would compromised their privacy.
Thanks for your prompt answer. I can understand that logic. I wouldn’t want every random seller whose eBay item I bid on contacting me.
Navigate to the eBay listing for the sold item. If you’re using eBay’s search feature to find the item, click the “Sold Listings” link at the top of the list to see items that have already sold.
