I have enjoyed reading the posts in this thread. I have been working with acrylics since I started painting a bit over a year ago. I do eventually want to work with oils and water colors, but right now I am focusing on improving techniques and developing an eye for composition, etc. Also experimenting with different genres to see what I like. I feel that I need to improve these things before I throw another medium into the learning curve. I believe that mastering techniques in one medium should transfer fairly well to another, while things like composition and genre are universal. So, for now, I will stick to acrylics because it is what I have been learning with.
