Do I record a painting that has been given away as "sold" or is NFS more appropriate?

I’m still relatively new here so I am wondering what the best practice is in this situation. Thanks for your input.

You can also set the status to Gifted or Donated in the Artwork Status of your Art Tracking Grid.

I appreciate the donated option as it will help me keep track when it comes to tax time, but I haven’t figured out how to enter the information about the recipient as I think the IRS would like to know that stuff as well.
